देहिनोऽस्मिन्यथा देहे कौमारं यौवनं जरा। तथा देहान्तरप्राप्तिर्धीरस्तत्र न मुह्यति।।2.13।।
dehino ’smin yathā dehe kaumāraṁ yauvanaṁ jarā tathā dehāntara-prāptir dhīras tatra na muhyati
Just as the embodied self passes through boyhood, youth and old age within this body, so it passes on to another body. A steady person is not bewildered by this.
The argument is finished before it begins. The first word is dehinaḥ, "of the one who has a body", not dehaḥ, "the body". A word meaning possessor already assumes something other than what is possessed.
