The community area is for study. It is not a debating chamber, and it is not a place to settle disputes about people.
You must be signed in to post. Everything you post is attached to your name and kept in the record.
The one rule that matters most
Do not criticise devotees. Not by name, not by implication, not as a philosophical observation that everybody can see is about someone in particular.
This is the rule most likely to be broken with sincere intentions, and it is the one that destroys a forum like this fastest. If a post names a living person and finds fault with them, it will be held for a moderator before it appears. That is not a judgement about you, it is simply how the queue works.
Out of scope
These subjects are closed here, not because they are unimportant, but because this is a school and these discussions produce heat rather than understanding. Stating them as policy means a moderator closing a thread is applying a published rule, not an opinion.
- Disputes about the position, qualification or conduct of specific gurus
- ISKCON or other institutional governance and politics
- Criticism of named devotees, temples or sampradāyas
- Matrimonial, fundraising, commercial or recruitment posts
- Medical, legal, financial or immigration advice
- Astrological predictions about individuals
Quoting scripture
Give the reference. If you attribute something to Śrīla Prabhupāda, to an ācārya, or to any scripture, it must be checkable, references are resolved automatically, and one that does not resolve is flagged.
Do not paste long extracts from copyrighted books. Quote briefly, cite, and link.
How moderation works
- New accounts are rate-limited and their first post is reviewed. This is anti-spam, not suspicion.
- Standing is earned by reading and participating steadily, never by volume of posting.
- Moderators are appointed by the administrator, and every moderation action is logged with a reason.
- Serious actions, removing a post, banning an account, need a second moderator.
- Any action against you can be appealed, and the outcome is recorded.
Safety, privacy and age
Do not post anyone’s personal details, including your own phone number or address. Do not give medical, legal or financial advice.
If someone appears to be in danger, report it, those reports go to a person immediately rather than waiting for a threshold.
You must be 18 or older to hold an account here. This is a legal requirement under India’s data protection law, not a judgement about younger devotees, who are very welcome to read everything on this site without an account.
