Explanation and elucidation

Begin with the verse itself, then trace its movement through puṇyaḥ (pure), vibhāvasau (in the fire), and tapasviṣhu (of the ascetics). Ask what changes between the first and last term, and how that movement contributes to knowledge of Krishna and his energies. State the connection in your own words, then check it against Bhagavad-gita 7.9.

Original school explanation. Written independently from the Sanskrit word map. It is not a quotation, translation, or summary of a named modern commentary. Chapter lens: Map material and conscious energies, knowledge of Kṛṣṇa, māyā, approaches to divinity and the rarity of full knowledge.
