Why is karma more than a slogan about consequences?
The Gītā’s discussion moves among action, duty, attachment, sacrifice, inaction and the result of action. Begin by identifying which problem a verse is answering.
Karma can name action, prescribed action or the binding consequence of action depending on context. “Do your duty” is therefore not a complete explanation.
